How Bux-Mont Awards is Making a Difference this Earth Day

As Earth Day approaches, it's important to reflect on the ways that businesses can make a positive impact on the environment and the world around us. At Bux-Mont Awards and Engraving Services, we are committed to doing our part to promote sustainable and socially conscious practices in everything we do. From the materials we use to the suppliers we partner with, every decision we make is guided by our commitment to environmental responsibility and social consciousness. Here are just a few of the ways we are making a difference this Earth Day: Recycling and Waste Reduction: At Bux-Mont Awards, we believe in minimizing waste wherever possible. We have implemented a recycling program that finds ways to keep our waste out of landfills. We recycle our aluminum and brass scraps, and we send our cardboard to a non-profit that bales and sells it to fund programs that help developing countries meet basic needs. We also recycle all of our plastic bags and other light plastic materials that

Elevating the Volunteer Experience: The Importance of Recognition and the Role of Bux-Mont Awards

Volunteering in your community is an important way to give back and make a positive impact on the people and places around you. Not only does volunteering help to improve the lives of others, but it can also have a powerful effect on the volunteers themselves. People who volunteer often report feeling a sense of purpose, accomplishment, and fulfillment that can be difficult to find elsewhere. One way to enhance the volunteer experience is through recognition. Recognizing volunteers for their hard work and dedication can help to motivate them to continue giving their time and energy to the cause. Recognition can come in many forms, such as verbal or written thanks, public acknowledgement, or even small tokens of appreciation. At Bux-Mont Awards, we understand the importance of recognizing volunteers for their hard work and dedication. That's why we offer a wide range of customizable awards, including plaques, trophies, and more, that can be tailored to your specific event or organ

The Important of Recognizing Time and Service at Your Organization

As an organization, it's important to recognize and appreciate the contributions of your employees and volunteers. One way to do this is by giving awards that honor their time and service. Awards not only show appreciation, but they also serve as a way to motivate and encourage others to strive for excellence. When it comes to recognizing time and service, there are many options to choose from. A popular award to give is a service award, which is presented to employees or volunteers who have reached a certain milestone, such as five years of service or retirement. These awards are a great way to show appreciation for the dedication and commitment of your team members. Another option is a longevity award, which is presented to employees or volunteers who have been with the organization for a certain number of years. These awards are a great way to acknowledge the longevity of an employee or volunteer, and the contributions they have made to the organization over the years. A thir

This is a very prestigious achievement and as such we are thankful to help them with their recognition needs and hope that through their utilization of a proper recognition program for their students and employees, they will continue to maintain their upward trajectory and help prepare our children for a productive and healthy future! Charities, Non-Profits and their stake in the recognition industry

Charities are some of our best customers.  Many of the charities and non-profits understand, for whatever reason, that proper recognition is beneficial to the bottom line.  Maybe its the volunteer nature, maybe its because of the many good and worthwhile causes that these charities are supporting.  And whatever the reason, they use recognition awards , plaques and gifts to show their appreciation for many things.  Volunteering time, donating money, hosting a fundraiser, selling tickets, educating the public, all these things we help recognize and are very proud of it. What is special to you?  What are you doing to recognize the efforts of those helping you help others?  What motivates you to help?  Please share your thoughts and stories in the comments. Recognizing Acheivement to Build a Better Event

This is a fact. Recognizing achievement helps make your event complete, engages your participants in a new way, and leads to greater participation in future events. The reasons for this are complex but it boils down to our needs to be recognized for what we do. The greater the recognition of the event the greater the urge to participate and to succeed. This is true in businesses, in sports, and in life in general. Think about it, people who are passionate about acting tend to become actors. They have the drive to succeed. They see the recognition other stars get and that propels them to strive to perfection in order to gain entrance onto that stage. The same is true of successful sales people, who are usually looking for monetary compensation. Recognizing their achievements other, non monetary ways, often times will cause a greater bond to build between a company and its sales force. Which company would you want to sell for, company A who only gives a monetary performance bas

Recognizing Achievements Leads to Success

It has been proven that recognizing achievements helps a companies bottom line. These studies have been conducted and outcomes have been stated that say so much. The question is why haven't you begun recognizing your employees achievements? Whats stopping you? It doesn't have to be a plaque or a desk clock. You can recognize achievements with a simple handshake and a thank you. Your own recognition of the work that was done goes a long way towards employee productivity. That said we are going to be discussing ways to help you recognize achivements this week. Tuesday through Friday we will go through ways to improve your corporate recognition program in order to help you better understand how the system works, why it works, and why you should have been recognizing achievements long ago. Happy Monday!!

Interesting Awards & Recognition Statistics

Statistics cited from a 2002 NAER Survey show some interesting things about recognition and the businesses that utilize recognition programs in their organizations. Far and away the most interesting stat that popped out right away was that 84% of businesses reported having an active employee recognition program. Additionally, even as the economy cools, recognition programs seem to be gaining in popularity with 41% of respondents indicating they are doing more with their recognition programs then they were 12 months ago. Of the people without a recognition program, over half said they are looking into starting one within the next 12 months. Another interesting stat include the reasons for having a recognition program. Tops on this list is creating a positive work environment, but other reasons include reinforcing desired behaviors, motivating high performance, increasing morale and supporting organizational values. The key is not just implementing a recognition program to achieve y

Hiring, Recognition, and keeping employees happy

We all know how important it is to hire good employees or to find good volunteers if you are working for a non profit organization such as a youth sports org. This can especially be a burden if you are on a tight budget. After reading an article in Fortune Small Business , and in trying to hire a full time employee, this article helped reinforce this fact. Diana Nguyen is 33. She started her career as a family physician and worked at an HMO seeing 25 patients in four hours. Doing this for sometime led Diana to branch out and open her own private practice. She kept trying to hire employees that weren't the right fit for her organization, and it hurt her business. While attending the UC Irvine School of Business extension program she learned how to find talented employees. This program enabled her to identify and hire an office manager who was able to grown Hguyen practice for her, while she focused on the stuff she likes doing, cosmetic medicine. And she is enjoying he

Awards programs and choice

Awards programs and choice have not always gone hand in hand. It was generally accepted that whatever the manager or boss thought was sufficient to give to employees to recognize achievements was sufficient and achieved the goals of motivating the employees. We know that to be totally false! People like choice but too much choice can be a bad thing. It's like Goldilocks, she didn't want to burn her tongue on the porridge that was too hot and the porridge that was too cold was not very tasty. It took her unt il the third bowl to find the porridge that was just right, and baby bear may not of thought it was the right temperature for him, even though it was perfect for Miss Locks. The point of this is there is not a one size fits all approach to this recognition thing. The goals themselves will often times be different. One thing is for sure though, you need to approach it with goals in mind and then approach it accordingly. Plaques and awards are the second most used re

Our towns, our teams.

If you are anything like me, and I know in this area that there are thousands of us, you are an avid follower of professional sports and our Philadelphia teams. You are also well aware of the heartache we as Philadelphia sports fans have had to endure in recent years, and some of your kids are growing up not knowing what it's like to get Playoff Fever or know what it's like even going to the finals. This is really unfortunate, especially because we are such a passionate bunch and want nothing more than a winner in this town. We are an area full of winners, rich traditions, and also great heartache. Being in the awards and recognition business, knowing what goes into championships, and the sacrifice and blood sweat and tears involved, I know it's not as easy as it looks to build a winner. It often seems, though, that things never work out even remotely close to as planned, as evidence with the Freddy Garcia debacle that is currently surrounding the Philadelphia Phillies

The culture of praise in the workplace

Heard this on NPR today, and thought it was pretty interesting, or at least interesting enough to share with you. It was about our, or my generations need for praise, not just in the workplace, but for life in general. Maybe it's just because I sell products that help people recognize achievement, but I do not see this as a bad thing. One caller said that we should blame Mr. Rogers, but again I can't see why we need to blame anyone. People need recognition . It doesn't need to be over the top recognition, but a pat on the back goes a long way for most all people. Even adults like getting recognized for a job well done. We are a society that thrives on motivation and in this day and age, we need to do whatever we can to get the most out of our human resources. These are the biggest asset of any company and should be watched closely. People make and sell the things. People make relations and believe in the products they are buying and paying the prices they

Recognition

rec·og·ni·tion - Noun 1. an act of recognizing or the state of being recognized. 2. the acknowledgment of achievement, service, merit, etc. 3. the expression of this in the form of some token of appreciation: This promotion constitutes our recognition of her exceptional ability. 4. formal acknowledgment conveying approval or sanction Let's not forget heading into this new year how important recognition really is. The need for personal recognition is innate in all humans, and is something unique to our species. When a fawn walks for the first time, it does not look to it's mother for approval, rather it starts frolicking on its new found sturdy legs. Humans, when striving to achieve, look to others for approval and use this approval to motivate them to try harder. Kids who play youth sports may not necessarily seek the recognition, though the more they get recognized the more they strive to try harder and be their best. A game winning home run would not be nearly as
